Baloyannis expected his son to follow in his footsteps and study at the technical University, but Bel-Jon had no interest. Bel-Jon had already shown a love of art and wanted to seriously study at the Superior School of Fine Arts in Athens. Panayiota supported him in his dream and told him not to discuss it with his father and to just enroll in the Superior when the time came. Months went by before his father found out about the change. He went to see how his son was doing at the Technical University only to be told that his son had never enrolled. Baloyannis went to the Superior to pull his son out and put him back on track, but by then his son's professors could already see his talent and they convinced Baloyannis to allow him to continue his studies. |
